Head of Family Law
Originally from Cheshire, Liz came to the West Cumbria area with an Honours Law Degree from the University of Central England. She was admitted as a solicitor in 1995 and joined HFT Gough & Co shortly afterwards, becoming a Director in January 2000. Liz is the Head of the Family Law Department and has over 25 years experience practising in family law.
Liz deals with all aspects of family law including Divorce and separation, Financial Remedy Orders, Cohabitation disputes as well as Child Arrangement Orders. Liz guides her clients throughout their proceedings and deals with advocacy upon their behalf at court.
Over the years Liz has acted for Parents, Grandparents and Children in Child Care matters and can offer specialist advice in this area. She has been a member of the Law Society’s Children Law Accreditation since 2000 and dealt with a variety of cases in this complex area of law.
Liz is known for taking a sensitive approach to dealing with these difficult issues and giving sound advice.

In her spare time Liz enjoys running and is a Member of Cumberland AC. Liz has participated in a number of Charity events including Race for Life and Great North Run. Liz organises Charity events within the business.
